28th Annual Conference

At saturday I attended the 28th Annual Conference. The Islamische Gemeinde in Deutschland e.V. (Islamic Community in Germany) organized the event this year in my hometown under the title of "Muhammad (s.a.w.) - Rahmatulil Alameen". Next to guests like Dr. Ayyub Axel Köhler, Ali Kizilkaya and Dr. Issam al-Attar, Amr Khaled and Shaikh Omar Abdul-Kafi were invited, too. Unfortunately, the latter couldn't make it, but still the speech of Amr Khaled was definitely the highlight of the whole event. He was already receiving standing ovations before he had the chance to say a single word.

A brother opened the conference by reciting some Ayaats from the Holy Qur'an. First he recites from Surah Al-Ahzab and then ends with Surah Al-Anbiya. [listen to it here...]

Later on Shaikh Fathi Id (db) held a speech in arabic language. He's Germany's Head of Imams and Ulema and Imam of a masjid in another big city. Ahmad Khalifa introduced him as a trustworthy person, who he always annoys with his calls and asking of guiding advices. [listen to him here...]

Last but definitely not least was the amazing Bayan of the well-known Amr Khaled. He told the story of Imam Shafi'i (r.a.) and his journey of bringing people together. To achieve this goal Imam Shafi'i (r.a.) acquired knowledge of Deen by any means necessary and at the same time was good in sports and knew many poems by heart. [listen to him here...]

A must for arabic speaking brother and sisters. The simultaneous translation on the headphones wasn't that good, but still better than nothing.
